Ok, lets start, what is poshpacker team, the main reason I create this blog is to get to know you guys, who have the same interest with me, travelling. And share my experience to be wandered around in different cities around the world. FYI  I have finished my 10th country this year.

Back to the topic, what is poshpacker? top definition source say,” A luxury traveler who loves wild amazing adventures but can still carry a back pack.” In my case I’m far from luxury aka the jet-setter traveler. I might still carry a backpack but with extra cabin bag, for sure. “Is a little refined but not too exclusive that they can’t enjoy some crazy local customs and tacky but awesome experiences.” That’s why called “packer” after “posh”, I guess. “Likes a clean bathroom and despises the thought of bed bugs.” who doesn’t? “Happy to pay for an upgrade, something a true blue backpacker would never do!” I will gives you trick and tips for get free upgrades or even a great deals on 4-5 stars hotels in the next post.

From the other source, The Sydney Morning Herald,” Poshpackers are just like your everyday backpacker, except they like things a little more comfortable, a little cleaner, a little easier to handle. Poshpackers would rather fly than catch a bus, would take the odd hotel to break up the run of hostels, would eat at a restaurant rather than the night markets, and would drink with the locals at night, then wake up between fresh sheets with a chocolate on their pillow. Poshpackers are usually in their late 20s to late 30s, with no kids and more disposable income than they know what to do with.” This is now sounds a bit snob rite? Now, my defense, its true we like to fly better than catch a bus, because we might have job when we return home, and maybe we dont have a lot of days to spent for holiday. So time is everything. the other part that we like to have hotel than a hostel, mainly because I like more privacy and I do like restaurants better, and for that “kids” stuff it’s true that I dont have one.

The downside to be poshpacker? we dont have many friends along the way, as you staying in a hostel with bunk bed. Anyway being a poshpacker or backpacker is only matter of perception, what comes first on your budget list. A nice Hotels, or cheap airlines ticket, or maybe a pampered day spa, its your choice. its your money to spent.Who am I to judge?
